Audubon Upper Mississippi River
Audubon Upper Mississippi River is the regional office of the National Audubon Society, working in Minnesota, Iowa, and Missouri. We are a dedicated team of conservation, education, policy, and engagement professionals committed to addressing the greatest stressors to birds and their habitats.
In the Upper Mississippi River region, we prioritize the conservation of healthy habitats for birds. Through a multifaceted approach, we tackle habitat conservation, avian surveying, and environmental education. By meticulously restoring and conserving forested habitats, we provide safe havens for countless bird species, ensuring their continued survival and ability to thrive. Our avian surveying projects closely monitor populations, identify critical areas for intervention, and track the progress of our conservation. Our grassland programs help maintain the delicate balance of this rich and diverse ecosystem as an integral component to Audubon’s hemispheric approach to bird conservation. Additionally, outreach provides key education to inform the public of our mission, prompt action, and inspire the next generation of conservationists.
