National Audubon Society Statement on Appointment of Presidential Climate Envoy

(WASHINGTON, November 23, 2020) -- Reacting to the announcement that former Secretary of State John Kerry will be appointed to the newly created position of Special Presidential Envoy for Climate under the Biden Administration, National Audubon Society Senior VP of Conservation Policy Sarah Greenberger issued the following statement:

“A senior position devoted to addressing the climate crisis sends a powerful signal that the United States is ready to return to the global fight against climate change. We look forward to working with Secretary Kerry when he assumes his new role, ensuring coordination at the highest levels of government to effectively address climate change as the existential threat to both people and wildlife that it is.”
