The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency has awarded Hope Enterprise Corporation (Hope) a $62 million dollar grant to implement a Solar For All program in Mississippi.
“This program will bring affordable, resilient, and clean solar energy to Mississippi’s hard-working families by reducing electric bills and enabling cost savings for low and middle-income households while delivering climate benefits to birds and people,” said Jill Mastrototaro, Mississippi Policy Director for Audubon Delta. “HEC has a demonstrated track record of lifting up communities across our state and Audubon is excited to support this major initiative.”
The Inflation Reduction Act authorized $7 billion for the Solar For All program. As one of 60 grant recipients, Hope will help low-income and disadvantaged homeowners and renters install rooftop solar panels and enjoy lower monthly electric bills—saving approximately $400 per household annually.
