Meg Calnan
Meg Calnan serves as the Vice President of Executive Communications at the National Audubon Society, leading the development and execution of the CEO’s communication and brand strategy.
Before joining Audubon, Meg spent 11 years at National Geographic, where she played a pivotal role in high-impact initiatives, including the award-winning Earth Day Eve event and the development of the ongoing Planet Possible initiative. She managed National Geographic’s internal and external communications through two high-profile mergers, stewarding the legacy brand through periods of historic transitions.
Earlier in her career, Meg worked at Conran PR, a boutique agency in New York, crafting publicity strategies for travel and lifestyle clients. She also held key communications and marketing roles at the Georgetown Business Improvement District and The George Washington University, developing expertise in event planning, media relations, and partnerships.
Meg holds a Master of Science in Tourism and Travel Services Marketing Operations from The George Washington University and a Bachelor of Arts in Communication and Media Studies from Marist College.
