Cooper Farr is the Community Science Manager for the National Audubon Society, where she supports, promotes, and innovates Audubon’s current and future Community Science programs, including Audubon’s Christmas Bird Count (CBC), Climate Watch (CW), and the Great Backyard Bird Count (GBBC). Cooper’s background is in avian ecology and applied conservation science, and she has over nine years of experience in developing and implementing community science programs.
Cooper earned a Master’s in Ecology with a focus in Conservation Biology from Colorado State University in 2015. After completing her degree, she received a fellowship from the Center for Collaborative Conservation to design and implement a community science project to monitor birds and butterflies within the city of Fort Collins, Colorado. She also holds a B.A. from the University of Colorado at Boulder in Psychology with a minor in Ecology and Evolutionary Biology.
Before joining Audubon in 2024, Cooper was the Director of Conservation at Tracy Aviary in Salt Lake City where she worked to conserve birds and their habitats through Tracy Aviary’s many conservation initiatives, outreach programs, and community science projects. In her free time, Cooper enjoys fostering dogs, birding, hiking, camping, and spending time with her husband and young daughter.
