Jenni has an ongoing passion for avian conservation and is driven to support mitigating the effects of climate change, especially in coastal systems. She graduated from the University of Michigan with a Master’s in Natural Resources and the Environment in 2021. For her thesis, she partnered with Audubon Great Lakes to study the relationship between black tern nesting success, habitat change, and lake level rise in the Great Lakes. She has also worked in a variety of other ecosystems outside graduate school, including mapping Northeastern bird habitats and Michigan sand dunes, conserving rare plants in the Florida scrub, and monitoring songbirds in fragmented forests. Outside of her work, she enjoys running, painting, and spending time with her dog. To read more about her research or view her artwork you can visit her website here.
